Sita Piers 

Sita Piers is a counsellor and registered social worker with over 20 years of experience working with people of all ages and walks of life. She is skilled in her profession, assisting clients in discovering their best self, overcoming obstacles and increasing wellness. She uses a variety of evidence-based tools such as CBT, DBT, ACT, solutions-focused therapy, as well as creative therapies using art, drama, play and recreation. Sita incorporate a holistic approach that is trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive, to find balance within the relationships, systems and biases that we live and work.

As a counsellor, Sita has worked with children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families. She is able to assist families struggling with behaviors, routines, and healthy living. She can advocate for clients dealing with MCFD and the school system. 

​

Sita is also experienced in crisis intervention, providing counselling and support to people of all ages experiencing abuse or as victims of crime. Sita is certified to provide counselling free of charge through CVAP, Crime Victim Assistance Program, to those who qualify, including as a victim, witness or family member who is affected. ​​As a clinical counsellor and case manager, Sita can assist clients with managing their mental health diagnosis and recovery. As a healthcare social worker, Sita is an advocate, and can assist clients to navigate healthcare, and other government systems, and to maximize benefits and resources they may be entitled to. Sita can help refer clients to recovery programs for addictions or mental health and assist families dealing with elder abuse or accessing assisted living. â€‹

Sita graduated from UFV with a degree in social work. She has continued studies at the University of Alberta in the Masters of Psychotherapy with creative focus and maintained her education upgrades each year as required aby the College of Social Work and the health authority.

Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy: 

  • We require 24 hours notice for cancellations

  • Late cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment are subject to 50% of the total cost of our appointment. 

  • No-shows (no communication received by the clinic via email or phone call prior to your appointment) are subject to the full cost of your appointment. 

  • These fees will be billed to your credit card on file and cannot be billed to insurance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
